The Committee on Climate Change have called on the UK government for greater intervention to reduce emissions!
As reported by the BBC, Adair Turner from the Committee on Climate Change argues that there is a need for greater investment in clean coal technology amongst the other actions to address climate change.
Established in 2008, the committee is an independent body who are moving towards the aim to cut emissions by 34% by 2010.
The committee claims that the reliance on market forces needs to reduce in order to encourage low carbon technology investors. It is recommending the UK government change its policies in order to facilitate this change.
