Vacancy for a Technical Author/ Editor
A vacancy has arisen in IEA Clean Coal Centre for a technical author / editor. We wish to appoint a well organised, enthusiastic person to join the Centre at its offices based in Putney, South West London.
The Clean Coal Centre publishes for its international members about fifteen studies each year. The subjects studied are selected by the members on technical developments, markets and issues concerned with coal. The emphasis is on power generation and the environmental consequences of coal use, and in particular on clean coal technologies and carbon capture and storage.
The successful candidate will be required to write clear and authoritative reports on all aspects of the clean use of coal and clean coal technologies throughout the World. The person appointed will be self motivated with the ability to work alone, albeit within a team of qualified and experienced engineers, technologists and information scientists. He or she should also have the editorial skills to assist the Programme Manager with the structuring and editing of other IEA CCC reports from first draft stage through to publication of the high quality, internationally respected publications for which the Centre is world renowned. The appointee will have an excellent command of written and spoken English and the ability to communicate effectively with the members of IEA CCC in terms of gathering and disseminating information at meetings and conferences. Knowledge of other languages would be an advantage.
A competitive salary will be offered. It is expected that the successful candidate will be educated to degree or post-graduate standard in an appropriate engineering, environmental or earth sciences subject with relevant experience in industry or in a research position.
