1st IEA CCC Coal Quality Workshop, 9-10 November 2016, New Delhi, India

The Indian coal industry is in an exciting state of change. By 2020, coal production in India could reach 1,500 Mt/y to fuel the country’s urgent need for electricity, steel, and cement. At the same time, this growing number of consumers demands an improved environmental performance which will depend on many factors, including the use of better quality coal.  

The 1st IEA CCC Workshop on coal quality will provide a stimulating and informal forum to engage stakeholders from all links in the coal supply and user chain, including transport agencies, consumers, and sampling/testing agencies, mines and anyone else with an interest in coal quality. 

The IEA Clean Coal Centre is privileged to be associated with the Coal Preparation Society of India for its first workshop on coal quality.
